Project Snapshot

Brief system overview

Holman Engineering supplied and installed a parking guidance system for the University of Wollongong to advise students and staff of spaces available in each car park section and provide real-time information to the university website.

Challenge

The university has nine car parks, most with multiple levels or sections, requiring reliable guidance across distributed parking areas.

Holman approach

The system uses more than 40 LED signs and 29 loop detectors to monitor vehicle movements. Holman node points collect the data, drive the electronic signs and support database reporting.

Outcome

Drivers receive campus-wide live availability information, while the university gains occupancy reporting and a centralised view of car park performance.

Why it matters

Real-time parking information improves site movement.

Holman parking guidance systems combine counting, sensors, signage and reporting so drivers can find spaces faster and site operators can better understand car park performance.

Driver guidanceLive availability

Displays show the number of spaces available in the relevant car park, level, zone or section.

OperationsCentralised reporting

TrafficNet and associated interfaces support live data, history and management reporting.

IntegrationBuilt for site needs

Systems can connect with signage, web interfaces, apps and third-party services depending on the project.
