Project Snapshot

Brief system overview

The University of Queensland required real-time parking availability across a multi-car-park university environment. Holman Engineering supplied and installed a parking guidance system to advise students and staff of spaces available in each section of the car parks.

Challenge

The university has 11 different car parks, many with multiple levels. The system needed to guide drivers to available areas and reduce unnecessary circulation.

Holman approach

IntelliPark monitors more than 3,212 spaces over 12 zones using LED displays, count points and Holman node points. Data is collected and stored locally before being collated into a central database for analysis and web interface access.

Outcome

The university can provide real-time parking information through its app and web systems while maintaining detailed reporting for car park management.

Why it matters

Real-time parking information improves site movement.

Holman parking guidance systems combine counting, sensors, signage and reporting so drivers can find spaces faster and site operators can better understand car park performance.

Driver guidanceLive availability

Displays show the number of spaces available in the relevant car park, level, zone or section.

OperationsCentralised reporting

TrafficNet and associated interfaces support live data, history and management reporting.

IntegrationBuilt for site needs

Systems can connect with signage, web interfaces, apps and third-party services depending on the project.
